Lead Street Ambassador Position

About Us

At Old St. Vital BIZ (OSVB), we’re a driving force behind a vibrant, welcoming, and thriving community. We take pride in enhancing Old St. Vital’s streetscapes, supporting local businesses, and fostering a safe, beautiful environment for everyone who lives, works, and visits here. From graffiti removal and beautification projects to business engagement and special initiatives, our work directly impacts the community’s growth and success. With approximately 150 businesses in our zone, we strive to keep Old St. Vital clean, connected, and full of opportunity.


What is in it for you

As a Lead Street Ambassador, you’ll lead a small team to help keep Old St. Vital clean and beautiful, and contribute to creating a vibrant, welcoming community. You will gain hands-on experience in leadership and community engagement, with opportunities to plan events and work directly with local businesses.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate a team
  • Oversee and participate in community upkeep, including graffiti removal and garbage collection
  • Manage inventory, track supplies, and maintain optimal stock levels
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe, and productive work environment
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses
  • Promote BIZ initiatives to local businesses, ensuring they understand the benefits of their membership
  • Develop marketing ideas to engage the community
  • Help organize summer events
  • Maintain accurate records, including updating business listings and other relevant reports
  • Assist with general office administration
  • Other duties assigned to support the success of the BIZ and its initiatives


Qualifications

  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and refugee Protection, who is legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • Ability to adhere to safety procedures determined by the Board and the City of Winnipeg
  • Ability to lead a team and work independently
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to attendance and reliability
  • Holding a valid driver’s license is a requirement
  • Effective communication skills
  • You must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Previous leadership experience is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in graffiti removal is an asset
  • Previous inventory management is an asset


Salary $19/hr.


Work Schedule:  Full time seasonal work, Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm
