Why join the board

For 30 years, the BIZ has been the team behind the flowers, the clean storefronts, and the events that bring people to St. Mary's and St. Anne's. None of it happens without a board of local business owners deciding where the effort goes.

Joining the board means:

• A real voice in the zone's direction. Marketing campaigns, public art, streetscaping, events, security initiatives — the board sets the priorities.
• A closer connection to your neighbours. You'll meet the other owners and operators shaping Old St. Vital, and you'll know what's coming before it lands.
• Experience that's hard to get anywhere else. Governance, budgeting, advocacy with the City — practical skills you can take back to your own business.
• A way to give back to the place your business calls home.

What it actually takes

Who can apply: A representative delegated from a business operating within the Old St. Vital BIZ.

Time commitment: Board meetings are held the third Monday of every month, 12:00–1:00 PM See the full meeting schedule.

Committee work (optional): Board members can sit on one or more of our standing committees based on their interests:

• Finance
• Economic Development
• Streetscaping
• Event Planning

That's it. No previous board experience required — we'll bring you up to speed.
